Writing articles that are keyword rich is vitally important. The keywords should make up 3-5% of the article and have the keyword in the title and be repeated a few times in the the first paragraph.

Personally I use the keyword in the title, the first sentence and then once or twice elsewhere.

I don't go for percentages, I'd rather the rest of my article obey LSI.

This is wrong, you should not be thinking about a % at all, a naturally written article that reads normally will never require this thought of % while writing it.

I'm afraid the % approach is not suitable to our expectations. You shouldn't overwhelm the article with your keywords. It is better that you maximized the amount of your keywords to 3-4 pieces by putting it in to the title at first, then once into the first pharagraph, after that once in the second/third pharagraph, perhaps into the last pharagraph. It depends on the lenght of your article.

I try to start the title with my keywords

    one in first paragaraph

    One in third paragrapph

    one in last paragraph.

Then digg it and mixx it and if it has less than 100,000 compition it's on the top 10 in google every time.

Yes, keywords are important in article marketing, and your article should be centered around one main keyword phrase.

One advice is not to over populate your articles with keywords. About once every 100 words is good enough. Make sure you have your keyword in the last paragraph.

Agreed with pipes and forous. You need not to run after percentage or keyword density. Keyword in title (Yet a catchy read), and somewhere twice in article in enough, preferrably at the end or in closing paragraphs (to link back as anchored text). Let the reader feel that the article has been written primarily for him and then for search engines. Probably, this article with a natural and informative flow will bring this visitor to your website.

    Cheers!

Putting to many keywords will ruin your ranking in the search engines

I tested this on a blog about a rare niche, it was ranked 1 for one day, the next it wasn't even on google

I have several articles ranked in top 10 for targeted keywords and I only focus on getting keywords in the meta title and meta description. Other than that, I write the article naturally and the keywords appear where they should. SEO doesn't have to be so contrived.
