Is it that important to look at the competition of keywords when you are not bidding on them? If you choose keywords for SEO purpose do they need to have a medium or low competition in order to score in the organic results? Or can the competition just be ignored when choosing keywords and working on SEO until the day you will perhaps start a Google Adwords campaign? Kind regards, ZenSEO
I think looking at the google adwords competion will help you determine whether or not a keyword is converting. If marketers are bidding on keywords then those keywords are most likely converting for them. Its a market research strategy. Keywords can rank no matter what the competion is (low, medium, or high). The high the competition, the more challenging it will to rank that keyword. When I look for keyword I like to find ones with 1000 or more exact monthly local searches. I also use market samurai to do market research to see how challenging that keyword will be to rank for.
Competition means Google only measures how many people are paying for the word ...am i right? So it only has effect on the ads when you're searching in google for that keyword. Everything under it is organic and so therefore the competition is not realy important if you're trying to find keywords for SEO purposes.
