I was just looking through some blogs and websites which are leaders in marketing,and what i noticed their they use different type of colours to highligh their words so that they can attract their visitors attention,such as msn which uses green colour for highlighting it's stock prices,colours also have some meaning like green stands for wealth,peace and yellow stands for youth,colours represent different age populations and they are crucial for your online success.
I have heard that red is the best colour to grab attention this is why on many sale pages the header is in red and the call to action also written in red I have tested sales pages using only a change in header and call to action text colour and the red always performs better

I agree colour is important. When I am writing sales pages I tend to highlight specific words that I want people to take notice of. I also underline and bold certain words. When people are flicking through content they tend to skim through stuff so highlighting and bolding certain words is a vital technique to wake your reader up and pay attention
