The impact the global financial crisis has on online marketing!

affiliate sales have dropped in the last month or so. I have a feeling it's going to have a negative impact, but different markets will be affected more than others.

 

I have also encountered a 20% loss in my CPC revenue, while traffic remained the same, but I started to make 3 times the amount of money from freelancing. I sold a lot more WP themes since the crisis than before... Maybe that means more people are trying to set up blogs... Who knows?!

 

Yes, unfortunately crisis has a negative impact on IT industry as well!

 

It can have positive as well as negative .Its difficult to say now, the impact can be different than expected. But I think the affiliate marketing will be saturated as more and more unemployed will turn to internet for making money . Or this may may have positive effect too as many will invest in this money making programs .I think for digital products it may have more positive effect.

 

I definitely felt the impact of people not purchasing as much regarding the Site Flip marketplace... But my sites within the "make money" niche had a record month...

It really depends what niche your in...

 

Depends what you mean with "digital products". if you mean things like softwares, obviously they are going down. Demand for cracked softwares, however, will go up.

This recession thing is growing

Regardless of how fantastic online advertising is and the internet, the recession is here in most places around the world and somewhere along the line companies across the board are reigning in on spending, which yes - also includes online advertising and other web spending!

 

Yahoo has been going downhill for quite sometime now, so that is no surprise. Recession, or not.

Has sales in such stores as WalMart or Target gone down much?

Again, there ya go.

People still need, and WANT things, so just make it easier for them.

 

The regression actually contributed to the quality of online marketing.
After all, it's the cheapest way to advertise.

Well I have found that with my US and Canadian sales there hasn't been much of a change really. But there has been a drop in sales overseas. It seems the world economy (or lack thereof LOL), is hurting Europe more than anywhere else.
