The "I" and "Us" factor! Read it!

Of late i have realised that when it comes to offering services, people use "Us" more often that "I".

For instance, there is a thread in the BST forum asking for long term writers.

Now, 9 out of 10 posts made will be like..

"we are a dedicated professional group of writers"

    rather than

    "I am a professional , experienced writer."

even if the writer is writing them all himself in his apartment.

What do you have to say about that ????

You don't consider your PC and office chair as business partners?

    We do.

It doesn't make any sense to me.

If you are individual you mention it. It doesn't have any shame to be a freelancer and not a company.

Many people think Freelancers are those who just do things for time pass and they are not real professionals. Its a wrong concept.

Exactly.... I am just telling that people think that they can get better offers or more offers if they use "US" rather than using "I".
well, this is the service providers perspective i am talking about.

They use the plural forms because they want to sound like a larger (thus, "more professional") service/business.

Exactly.... That is what i am trying to convey.
Do you think that people would sound more professional if they work as a company??? Of course they do.But, that doesn't mean that the freelancers are not to that level of expertise and competence.

There are some who think the other way !

    ... :)

I agree and I prefer to deal with a company that is us rather than I.

Yeah.. This is what exactly i wanted to show.... This attitude of the buyers makes the service providers to project themselves as a company, as a group or whatever!
