I didn't know about it.

Gathering unbiased data and evidence is in the interest of science. When it comes to religion, there aren't many cases where it can be tested/measured by the scientific community, but the "Holy Fire Miracle" is an exception. They could start with temperature readings, and burning tests of the fire.

LOL.:)

Of course, that would depend on the material it's made out of. Here's one made out of stone that has lasted 28,000 years, it was discovered in a cave.

Honestly, I don't know what kind of research they might do. The fire does not last after the event. So, the scientists have to figure a way to test it live. It would get much more media attention.
Miraculous? Of course.

Miraculous is such a subjective word. The effects of Viagra on a 70 year old man are nothing short of Miraculous IMO.

Your failure to answer my questions is very embarrassing. Are you following this >

"It’s so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don’t say it"

Unfortunately, there is no cure for being stupid.

You didn´t extract the most important parts from the same page.

I am sure none of the above make any difference to a brain washed Christian such as you.;)

Definitely. If the claims of the "Holy Fire Miracle" could be scientifically proven to be true, it would probably be front page news.

I first applaud you for at least providing an answer- unlike the previous two Atheists
That being said, I did look at the Criticism earlier and none of it had any relativity to the Miracle.

This Miracle is from God. If there is anything going wrong in the Church or there are bad decisions being made such as a Pope entering the tomb without having enough faith or is making bad decisions for the Christian Church, then simply Fire won't show. Just like the old testament if you read. These are signs from God to his people.

Now regarding Phosphorus, as you know it is reactive. Try dipping a candle in phosphorus solution and ignite it. Then stick it to your face. I am sure it would be a good chemistry lesson that you'll never repeat. So I suggest you do more research on that.

The candles ignite instantly in the event of the miracle. In fact, I have some. I can assure you I would know if there were any traces of chemicals on them.

Ignite! Read again. It doesn't take 20 minutes!

Well, I can see the light and I will assume that miracle is in a progress but....
I can't see fire ignited candles instantly

How long one have to wait before candles start burning?

Or the dildo/dog turd.

Also, if its hot enough to light a candle, wouldn't the general contact with the magic light burn the skin of the hand holding those candles? Sorry to digress, first lets address the dildo issue.

I suggest you take a look at the videos. The fire (light) is passed along or the candles may light by themselves.
I found a video on youtube of someone having this recorded. Take a look at the candles closely. See what he says in the caption.

I am sure if you experience this yourself, you will realize that this is not Normal at all.

I have been to that church several times. Each time is more terrible than the previous one. Especially at the entrance where people throw themselves on the ground lick water from the floor near something which is related with jesus's death, some also asking to be photoed in this position. Imagine what religion can do to people.
This is a bit funny maybe but this church is where reasonable people need to go if they question their atheism....

edit: found something on you tube. usually more people lick this water...... this one was staged for the camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZVUG-ly2_0 . bah.

I suggest you pay attention to parts starting with 1minute 17 seconds and specifically
2 minutes 28 seconds and watch how many people are using priest's torch

And if fire is cold, then how come candles were melting?

As soon as the bells ring, that means fire is seen. People rush to the Patriarch and priests to get the Fire from the source. The patriarch usually stands in the front entrance after the original candle is lit. This event does not last for the whole day that is why people are rushing.
But again, like I said, the candles Do light by themselves (see 1:02) in the video but not for everyone. Most people rush to the patriarch and then it spreads along by people passing the Fire.

The fire is cold for the first 30-40 minutes. It does eventually get hot by the end of the event. That is why the candles start to melt.
The miracle is not only in the properties of the fire itself but also the source.
Obviously there is no source of such fire inside the tomb.
But again, this whole ceremony is based on faith and acceptance of the glory of God. The blessing is from God and faith is from you.

This is the place if one needs to seek the truth with their eyes and a little bit of faith.

"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed"

LoL. How depraved. Its amazing what people will do for their beliefs. It reminds me of a joke about a gay leprechaun with a 12" cock granting gullable people three wishes in a bathroom urinal. About three minutes into the process of being compensated for the three wishes, the "leprechaun" asks, "so how old are ya son?". The reply is always followed with, "And you still believe in leprechauns?"
