Easy to rank for? It's an SEO competition :)

I was #1 for "secure proxy" for until my site was down, and still currently is until my new server is setup.

Looking at "Results 1 - 10 of about 16,600,000" has nothing to do with how competitive or not competitive a result is. I would like to know how you calculated that all those terms are easy to rank for.

Let me elaborate. I looked at other websites ranking both above and below. Let's look at the first example you provided: "rapidshare forum".

There are only 4 other websites competing with you for that term, and you placed last. The rest of the results are from directory submissions. I should note that I did not go past page 4.

Secure proxies is a much more competitive term...but you still don't have any examples to show us. I am not trying to give you a hard time, I would just like to understand (and help others understand as well) what your experience/expertise is worth.

There is a ton of free information available on this forum and people can learn a lot if they take the time to read through it.

There are actually more than 4 competing for that term, and like you must have missed up above, I spent no more than an hour and $50 on directory submissions. Very basic SEO work (due to lack of desire to spend lots of time and energy which I could use elsewhere)

If you would like, I can put it to you this way. Numerous members on this forum with professional SEO knowledge reviewed this book and provided input and feedback, such as "thegypsy" author of SEO Handbook 2007, "softgroups" and Alan Murray.

Is that your secret? I don't think it's worth $10.

Do you even read my posts or do you pick up half a sentence and then comment?

First of all, you're not that sneaky...you totally edited that last post after I quoted you so don't make it seem like I am taking random parts.

This was added after I commented. Is this how you do business?

Sneaky? Actually I noticed parts which I forgot to mention. And I didn't totally edit. I didn't remove anything, I added a bit.

Thanks, well feel free to hate my book as much as you like, but I will use the comments from those who have actually read the book to determine whether or not it is useful.

You make a double post so I only reply to one and couldn't see the other? Is this how you do business? :)

For someone who has never actually read my book, you love to tell me how bad it is.

And as you can see, I am not the only one asking about examples. The first example you provided was one a term you barely put any effort into...why would you pick that as an example of your work?

It is actually a perfect example for the target audience. It shows them that they indeed can do SEO (it is not as scary and difficult as it's made out to be!) if they apply the steps in the book (title, h1, h2, meta, link building etc.) that they can rank pretty well, even if they don't spend $$$ (like it's portrayed to be like by some people) and spent countless hours working (though more work = better results)

Well, I can't comment on America, but in Australia one sentence does not equate to a paragraph

And for the record, I never said I hated your book...I never read it. All I did was question that example you provided...and that is obvious from my first post.

Notice how I don't say a thing about hating your ebook...I simply want to know why your ebook is worth $10.

That's pretty much it. Not sure how you were able to infer anything more.

I said I didn't work that hard on it, and you somehow interpret that to be the "magic secret" of my book.

There are no "magic secrets". It is knowledge and hard (and smart) work.

You were asked for an example of your work and you provide one that you didn't work hard on.

It's like trying to get a web design job and showing your potential customer the worst layout you ever made (as opposed to your best work).

What you are doing is like going to a car salesyard, and quizzing the guy about his background rather than the actual cars he is selling

But you are not selling someone else's ebook (car from your example)...you are selling a ebook that you wrote based on your own expertise. All I am asking is for an example/result of you expertise.

Anyways Matt, as much as I love these spirited conversations, it's getting a little late here on my side of the globe so I am off to bed. I really wish you the best of luck with your ebook.
