    Win + x

For those of you wondering how to get around win 8, this is a must know

see the attached image for the menu you get when you use win + x

also, being able to type anything from the start menu makes finding things a no brainer

It boots faster, runs better and I totally love it

the people that do not like it seem to want the old resource hog stuff back, like aero or do not know how to customize or get around.

this video is GREAT at showing you how to customize Win 8 easily

    Enjoy!

PS: hope you like win 8 as much as me after learning a couple easy basics

I was lucky and got my win 8 pro as a 19.99 upgrade offer since I bought my computer after june 2012, or to be honest ... I may have waited until I needed a new computer before moving up to the new os

I'm glad I didn't wait though ... if you are running win 8, did you upgrade? get it on a new computer?

thanks for your response ... I do think it is funny how many people say it's too early to switch, but most couldn't get off vista and move to 7 fast enough LOL

Honestly, as an a+ certified repair tech, I see so many corrupted system files on win 7 as problems, I couldn't get off 7 fast enough

I have PC shop in my town and many clients who coming mostly have winxp than vista.
Vista was just a total fail from Microsoft. So i prefer win7 or xp if the pc is too old.

I also still see A LOT of xp machines come in for repair and I think it is mostly XP folks that are now making the move to 8 ... and I can understand the confusion for them. Going from 7 to 8 is not too bad, but xp ... LOL, major adjusting

Have you seen a lot of update problems with 7? most of the 7 machines I see have failing updates and blank update history windows where even the update troubleshooter will not work and the only fix seems to be a reinstall

Nice to be chatting with another geek!!

In my country i got licensed PC's only from firms and shops where inspection is "monitoring" them, but for family use i got only licensed laptops with win7 starter who are recently buyed which it have licensed os included. Piracy laws in my country are only on paper :)...

Most of the pc's with xp are from old customers so i most of the time ask them do they want xp or win7, they said: nah leave it same as it has been so far.
