Based on the countries history and what the country has done over that time until today, what country do you think is the worlds greatest? I haven't chosen the country I think is greatest based on there history, thats why I have opened this thread to learn from your opinions. History lesson.
There could be lots of different criteria for which country is the greatest. The most powerful country and the happiest country are not the same. The most wealthy country and the most healthy country are not the same. The biggest country and the most populated country are not the same. And of course, many people may be biased towards their own opinions of where they live, so it would be hard to get an unbiased decision, I think. Two different countries may have differing opinions on what was "right" and what was "wrong". It's very interesting to look at though, It'll be interesting to see what comments people place here.
Upto medieval age China and India. From renaissance age Italy, France and Britain. From world war 1 to world war 2 US. After world war 2 Japan and South Korea.

That is certainly a good point, I could give an example for "The most wealthy country and the most healthy country are not the same." USA could be the most wealthy but they are also the fattest country in the world, that sounds a bit harsh but its true. I can also give an example for this "The biggest country and the most populated country are not the same." Russia is the biggest country in the world but China is the most populated. But as for the greatest country based on its history, all these point you have made can be combined, Great Britan is very small but there was a time when they owned half of the world. China used to be a poor country but now they are becoming a very rich county. Anyone remember the Romans?? They had an enormous empire. Based on history Indians are rich , Germans are intelligent and developed good techonogly . China and Greek are famous for there culture and habits . of course Greeks are also famous for different kinds of sports. Great Britain and French are famous for Conquering the Throne of differnet countrys . At present US(United states of america) is well developed in all aspects and Japan is only the country which is familar in Robots . Africa countries are rich in resources. well, every country has its IMPORTANCE , and UNIQUESS .
I would say Persia/Iran since they first wrote the basic human rights. The follow history up till today and different contry would be for different period. Today its hard to say since we have clash between civilizations like in the cold war.
