I was thinking about this, or you can always stuff a cookie (it's wrong, I know) but hey when it comes to situation like this, I say screw it.
Lol, it took me a week to find this out... And I had to pay to learn... Maybe you should be upset at the Rocket Language Publishers instead of me. Or maybe you should try reviewing CB products like Bloggers Pay Check... that are soo detailed that they tell you(about 20% of the main ebook) how to set your blog up.... In others words, if people can charge for such basic stuff... why can't I charge for stuff most newbies have no clue about!
I won't use this tactic. Clickbank can ban you for it. btw the digital vendor is rspanish the physical vendor is shipspain Yet when I look up shipspain in CB marketplace and CB analytics, there are no stats. I have no idea of the affiliate gravity. Maybe no one is promoting it because they didn't look for the vendor id?? At any rate, publishing the regular rspanish ID will still be good I think because the gravity is very high.
btw, I can understand not offering a huge commission on physical. Per unit, it is costing them more. But they should still offer something..... Although CB doesn't let you do that with the same account. Each product in the same account must have the same commission. I can't blame the publisher really. Blame CB for not providing a good solution.
Hi all Just thought that I would clear this up, as it seems to have caused some confusion and consternation amongst affiliates. In the past we were unable to use ClickBank for physical (shipped) product orders. We knew affiliates were not happy about this even though a very small percentage of sales are physical orders. So, we addressed this with ClickBank and got the opportunity to beta-test physical orders through the ClickBank system. There have been a lot of issues that have needed working through, for example, how to handle refunds, partial refunds, customer support training, etc. The current status is that we are now about 2-3 months away from making it so that affiliates will gain commission on physical orders. Also, while Rocket Languages products are highly regarded, we are adding in extra levels of interactivity to the Members Area to increase customer satisfaction.
You might want to work on increasing conversions as this is one of the worst converting products I have ever attempted to sell on clickbank. I sent over 2000 hops with not a single sale, lol.
Hi JobLess The conversion rate is getting more attention in the coming months as well. We are rolling out a new design, incorporating more usability testing and split testing more factors. In saying that I am always interested in garnering feedback from marketing-oriented people, such as affiliates, about what factors they would like to see added or removed from the copy.
Hi all I forgot to get back to this thread and let you all know that as of August 2009 we sorted out how to pay commissions for shipped products. This year CB have made it so that it is very easy to offer a commission on physical products by including that feature in the CB account. So, anyone who is having difficulty or has a question then please let me know.
Hey, RocketLanguages From what I can see, nothing has changed. You are still NOT paying your affiliates for the physical product. Bad move, you're losing a lot ....
But it is still impossible to send the customer to the normal digital download hoplink and get commission if the customer orders the hardcopy version, isn't it? While this may be within CB's terms, it won't sit well with affiliates.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that we had to set up a separate CB account to handle the shipped products as a beta test with CB when they first started investigating shipped products through the CB network. This meant that affiliates needed to use a Rocket Languages affiliate url, which can be easily made from our affiliates area; rocketlanguages.com/affiliates/ essentially the url needs to be of the form rocketlanguages.com/spanish/premium/?aff=AFFILIATE (you will see that this loads two hops, one for download purchases and one for shipped). We let all affiliates on our newsletter know about this when we first started testing with CB. As CB has recently added in the ability to have download and shipped product under the one account we are going to switch to that system. Its going to take a couple of weeks unfortunately as we have 100 or so products to change and test. Let me know if that doesnt make sense or you have any further questions. Thanks!
Please explain us why after 3 days of emails my affiliate tracking id is lost through your follow up email for the 6 day trial version. Thanks
Hi EvcRo Once the ClickBank cookie for the hoplink is set it lasts for 60 days. The only ways it can get over written are if the user clicks on someone elses affiliate url or if they clear their cookies. Actually, you mention "tracking id"; do you mean the ClickBank TID? If so then I believe that gets set when the hopink (affiliate url) is first used and lasts in a similar way to the hoplink (and can get over-written in the same ways). Thanks!
