Has anyone heard specifically from Yahoo that placing YPN ads next to images is either acceptable or not? I know that there are all kinds of opinions on this, people asking if it's legal or not....I saw this site today, and it made me want to ask the question. http://www.marksgraphichelp.com/
And he's selling his site for $300k. Doubt he'll get that much for it. Check it out: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=358143
i am just amazed at how many people use myspace. I never heard of it before xenra joined a few months ago. I am soooo internet sheltered. I work online too much to look around and see whats going on LOL $300k, if he makes $20k/month isn't too bad, really.
Um yeah, check Overture Bid Tool. Britney Spears was searched 1.5 million times in February. MySpace was searched 12 million. As for making $20k/month, I doubt that lasts, although I certainly don't blame him for trying to rake it in. Paying 300k for a two month old site is a HUGE risk.
Paying $300k for a site based on nothing but glitchy YPN earnings is an even bigger risk... what happens when they lower payouts, or even worse, decide to ban you?
I totally agree. My guess is that at some point the ads that are showing will do the same that my niche did. Dry up. I had a good run with YPN, that is, until I broke the budgets and they stopped advertising in content.
I think it's a pretty common (if old & misused) strategy of adding images atop each ad portion in the block. This one seems a little extra tricky because the icons represent something similar to a site navigation whereas other versions I've seen show products similar to what they would expect to appear in the ads.
mark: how does it convert for you? I mean is the technique worth the effort? I think that as an advertiser I would cut your head off because I think it brings them untargeted traffic. Usually, I presume the users don't even know that they clicked on an ad.
