By spending 100 or 200 bucks, using Google AdSense for making rev and returning result from Altavista; you can't be a Google killer.

sure this is a nice search site but I really don't think search engines that use other search engines to get there stuff should call themselves google killers.

If you didn't market it as "google killer", there'd be + comments here.

The only way to compete with Google is through heavy niching

    Such as profit distribution

Definitely not getting far in my opinion. First off, the load is soo slow. Takes around 5 seconds to load, compared to the less than 1 second load on google. I do agree that the thumbnails thing is pretty cool but if you use Firefox and have the add-on called CoolIris Previews, it's nothing too fancy then.

Same question I always have. Whats unique compared to the other search engine scripts? I mean this is running a default script with minor edits, I can find 100 sites on google that are 99% the same as this, just different colors etc.

It's funny how it has Google ads on it.

    That made me laugh.

Also it's decent, but Google still is better.

LOL! It seems like everyone who rolls out a new search site wants to declare themselves the killer of Google. What makes you guys think you can come anywhere near Google with your search site running from a shared hosting account. Just take a look at what happened to all the big boys who tried.

Ask.com with their advertising blitz and new features couldn't even bump off MSN.

Amazon despite being the 800 pound gorilla of online retail, fell flat on their face with A9.

Microsoft aka "The Evil Empire", notorious for crushing the competition in every market they enter, has been humiliated numerous times by Google. Steve Ballmer has reportedly even had chair throwing fits over Google. Now Microsoft is trying to buyout Yahoo to increase their market share. Odds are that will only help Google as hordes of Yahoo users jump ship to escape Microsoft.

Remember when hotmail was actually hot? Then Microsoft bought them out and turned it into a crappy mail service and everyone switched to yahoo mail. I can see a lot of people signing up with Gmail with this latest move.

not impressed.....has some of the same quirks as Alta Vista (tends to rank spammy sites very highly).

Lol - well, sperse (which I haven't yet checked out but will) seems to have generated a lot of response! Just to add my 2 cents worth - although I'm not going to call it a google killer - I heard at one stage that gigablast was doing VERY well in the newer search engine stakes (lol - can't wait to be told that I'm completely out of touch / wrong / mad etc... :)
