there is no google killer around. its impossible to kill google. i think people on this forum need to realize that.
Um ... doesn't Google give better results to pages with lots of links, which can be manipulated? Sproose and Stumbleupon both have potential. Like any other system, people will try to game them. If a system incorporates user feedback and is made less susceptible to gaming than the alternatives, it will improve and could become dominant.
Google is too big. You need big finance to even stand a chance against it. 'Googleing' is the same as hoovering' now too....
Google is to well known and has to much money for a little company to compete with them. Even Microsoft can't compete with them.
Yahoo started small and became the biggest and best. Google started smaller and became bigger and better.
Concept is good, but it would take a pretty big budget to get into the game. Like the design of the front page, not so much the results page.
There have been lots of pronouncements of this new server, that new search engine, this new OS alternative, that would cause the demise of the bigs (Yahoo, Microsoft, Google). They have always been premature, and while I don't know this new engine, but I imagine that Google will win again, especially if there are patent issues here on voting on search results.
