It's actually an OK site and does produce good results....however, it doesn't load as fast as google and its' template isn't as basic and simple...you'll never be a real competitor but very nice try
I just tried a couple obscure search terms and I have to say I'm impressed. I don't know if it's better than Google but it's not bad.
You must be joking right?. Everybody after week or so claims that google killer has been born. But it is never true until now and it wont be in near future. Google has become for web search and web applications and inovation what windows is for pc users. Google did not became a super search engine just by chance or a fluke. There are a strong scientific methods and principles behind google success. The famous Google Algorithm is the base of this giant Google structure who has more than 15 billion web pages indexed. So if someone wants to kill google then he should find another type of algorithm to index web. Come with some new and fresh idea which is better in search technology then google. I can make that type of search engine in about hour or so but it would be silly to claim that it is google killer. I have two websites which i made and the search results are good on them but they are not like google not even near to that. But might be better then sproose.com atleast in loading speed. Have a look http://www.zambeal.com http://www.webbier.com Thanks
Its not very accurate like for example search for free auctions. Look at the results. There is still room for allot of improvement on relevancy of search terms but always nice to c someone trying to be better than the top dogs and it can and will happen someday.
I think voting for sites is bullshit...The search results are all ordered by the total amount of votes a site has, not relevancy. For example, search for insurance. The top results are: ask.com, remax.com and live.com.
This could be a google killer if you made it like revenue sharing and stuff Why not share the profits
Might as well keep it going It's nice. My directory is in it, Happy about that And the results are good too. The problem is sabotage, each website owner can vote their own site, buy votes, and probably buy "bins" which might reduce the vote count. Unless votes can not go down?
I like the idea, thought of something similar not to long ago but never started to make it, design is average but idea could become popular only if it had a massive user base, until its in the top 1,000 - 500 sites on the net the votes thing is pointless. I also think that the vote part should be a part of what decides the algorithm but I think to much importance is placed on something which is open to spam. possibly something like inbound Links (30%) + relevance (40%) + votes (30%) = good rankings
