the problem isn't designing a better search engine. It's having the capital to pay for all the required servers and infrastructure to support one, and then on top of that a huge advertising budget to cram branding down peoples throats. Google won't be killed. But the other SEs will learn from their successes, and slowly catch up.
I don't like the sproose results. The search results show pages from the same url in multiple positions.
It will take a lot of money plus very clever people and the public must like it to be a Google killer
For the very few searches I performed, I was pleased with the results. The voting can obviously be abused, but overall, I think they may be on to something here.
site loads to slow, i added a vote to the search on the name of my site (wasn't even first result) and it still isn't - weighted down by some 300 view youtube video.
I will not talk about design because the taste varies from person to person but surprisingly the results are really good. Index also looks deep because I could see results for regional search based on different parts of the world. Well cant be called as google killer at this stage but we don't know may be in future this site can go huge
I must agree. Google has a tremendous financial power and cannot be taken down or even cought up with. On the other hand money is not all that matters. Google is equal to the Internet for some people, which means quite a lot.
i liked the ideas of comments, report spam and others...after having a look at the search engine it felt it would be better if google had such options. atleast the comment system. well about its future...i guess it have to struggle hard heart and soul for several years and have to have good funding to keep the search engine going. best of luck...wish it becomes another google killer
The product is flawed on many levels. It can be spammed to get high results, and who cares what people LIKE. I want what it USEFUL to me. Which is why pagerank is more useful.
I have to agree with the many post above! I don't think it is a google killer, results are quite good though. Just one other thing! What does the "Vote" image at the left hand side of the results actually do? Is one voting how good the actual site is or how relevant that particular result was to the search criteria?
The site load time isn't good enough to overtake Google. It also reminds me of http://www.mahalo.com which, IMO, is superior to your link.
There are some things that just work because they 'get it'. Google 'gets' search...i'll be REALLY surprised if anyone can outperform them
