The Google Dance

    Hi Guys -

    Can anyone explain why sometimes your site jumps up (and think great, crack open the fizz) for around a few hours, normally evening time GMT, and then goes back to where it was before?

    I call it the Google Dance, I don't really mind as it seems that when it does it to my site, normally within 4 weeks my site is back up there to stay (My ranking climb every 2-3 weeks at the mo, so I am very happy)

    So anyone know why this happens etc

    Yes could be - I am building back links all the time, but its funny how Google puts you up there, then takes you down, and then a few weeks later you are back up to stay until the next dance lol

    Sorry yes one day the site is 4th then jumps up to 2nd stays for awhile then goes back to 4th

    It can occur during when google index website and ranking fluctuate then again back in position.

    There must be some new upcoming blogs/sites of your same niche. Some of the new blogs do show up as they are crawled and indexed for the first time.

    Google has two other servers that can be used for searching. The search result on them also change during the monthly update and they are part of the Google dance.
