I am confident that it wont affect ranking, but it may affect indexing!

Using the browser for more data mining -- that's an interesting take...
Might get them into a bit of PR trouble though, with all the discussion about online privacy these days

I hope they use this to really ramp up the kind of applications that can be created to run in a web browser.

Microsoft still has too much of an incentive to keep crippling the browser -- they want people writing applications for windows after all.

So who knows whether this new browser will get any serious adoption, but let's hope so!
Maybe the Google brand name will resonate a little more with the IE-using masses. Firefox is still a little too geeky...

Even If it is the best Browser it will take atleast 10 years to get upto the top because IE holds 64% FireFox holds 20% browser share which Google can not overtake easily.

i dont think so.. google will make it 10% share within yr.. thts my personal viewpoint.. becoz if u see the kind of services they can embed like - adsense n analytics with a click in the browser..

dont u feel it would give a gr8 user experience.. with not the only search toolbar but also lots of other things..

I think you might be right on that, I'm wary of using their new browser and will take a wait and see attitude before I would even consider using their browser.

I think FireFox will die and this is what Google stopped referrals in Adsense.

I have no doubt that google will use it to further their quest for the 'perfect search'.

However, if you actually read the comic book thing they released along with the announcement you may begin to see that some of the features they're introducing to make the browser faster/more secure are actually pretty amazing.

I just wonder why Google do not enhance their contribution to develop Firefox instead of building new web browser.

Well, let's give it a try and see what we get there - I think Google can offer little extra as compared to FF and Opera...

Aha is it ? How do they ban adsense publisher second time with a message like "your account is related to another account which got banned previously "

Do not stay in the utopian world thinking that google does not collect personal information .
