I take it Google's naming the browser "Chrome"?

I think Google will eventually lead the browser field. Definitely the start of world domination. Pretty scary, if you really think about it.

I find it strange, given that Google could have easily taken over Mozilla. They are in fact the main financial and technology contributor of Mozilla. Taking it over and integrating with current Google apps would be far easier and acceptable for most consumers. By launching a new browser, they are going through the learning curve again.

    Exactly!

They should be able to get a decent market share pretty quickly if the product is good.

That could be useful. I use many google services (app for domain, sites, documents, mail, reader...) and I would love a browser with more integration support. I hope Chrome has it.

This explains why Google is no longer going to be offering Firefox as a referral for adsense.

I think it's just a browser which won't be any better than IE.

    FireFox will prevail!

You two need to get out a little bit. It's the top headline on every major tech site right now.

I love Firefox as well, but read through the whole comic -- Chrome could be a killer.

    Me too!

I love FF too and I really doubt Google will able to touch FF in terms of usability and performance...there are too many people developing cool extensions/add-ons for FF. I think I have over 20 addons installed and I need all of them.
