I don't believe in it, but I see no point in arguing with believers of evidence for their religion. They will most likely either explain illogical things with magic or lose their belief and fall in sadness/depression.
Bible texts were first written around 100 years after Jesus. Rewritten TOTALLY with additions at the council of nicea (313AD). Translated from ARAMAIC & HEBREW, to Greek, to Latin, to OLD English, to ENGLISH with over a dozen retranslations along the way. While there are probably a lot of teachings of Jesus left, it is fair to say that most of it has been twisted, retranslated, made up and redited/reedited over the centuries. And it was all parables and metaphors to begin with. Anyone who thinks that the Bible is the word of god is very misinformed. The bible has been changed more than my socks. (ps, I do change my socks every day)
This is the best criticism I've ever seen of this movie, although 98% of the criticism I've seen can be summarized as "I'm not watching it because it's a bad movie and/or I already know everything" rep+ for you.
Over the years I've picked up on red flags when people try to criticize the Bible. Those red flags are common arguments that have been debunked for decades if not longer. Anyone who brings them up is not serious about finding the truth. They're just checking to see if other people are as ignorant as they are. It's unfortunate how many Christians don't really study the Bible so when these "tough" questions come they don't have an answer and doubt. Someone who was serious about the truth would asking questions about the answers that have already been given for the questions. Not just parroting questions they got off the internets. The Pharisees were constantly trying to stump Christ with rediculous questions and even Christ himself got annoyed with them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_God_Who_Wasn't_There "Moderate Christianity makes even less sense than a fundamentalist interpretation of Christian doctrine. " Christianity doesn't make sense to some people because they try to look at everything with their own logic. God can clearly be seen in the illogical. Everything else can be explained by science. Moderate churches try to contort the Bible to be more "logical" and in doing so create a lot of problems. The Bible makes sense if you read it with an open mind. If you assume everything has to make sense and miracles can't happen then no duh you're going to reject the Bible.
there is no god. The universe is everywhere and everything, including all of us. we are all one connected energy, but it is not god.
This is why even in the bible god said that bible alone isnt enough , that you must rely on sacrad tradition to be pased on. At the church my mom goes to the mass is till done in aramiac(the original language jesus spoke). This is why jesus specifically left an amabassador here on earth. He knew many different bibles can be interpreted and translated in many different ways. Moneyspeaks thank you for your concrete words which are of course set in stone lol
Kalvin, don't bother with ferret - he thinks that the dinosaurs somehow disprove the Bible. And don't bother explaining dinosaurs to him, since this has been done in at least 2 or 3 threads already. (a little dense I guess..)
You don't need dinosaurs to show that the story in total nonsense. Any logical person can see what a fantasy it is by just reading the text.
according to this guy we ate all the dinosaurs http://youtube.com/watch?v=6X6BZeTO37Q&mode=related&search=
