A great documentary about the early days of the Christian faith and many reasons for believing the Jesus story is highly innacurate. Watch it before you flame please. I'm willing to discuss it if anyone is up for it.

It's OK with me. No problems. But you must admit that is quite a rash statement when there is so much historical evidence that backs up a great deal of the Bible (a holy book). How you can ignore all of that evidence and say that the entire book is false? If it is false, then what is the purpose of it being written? Seems to be a lot of work just to be a fairy story don't you think?

That may be so but that's not the point here. The point Mistermix is making is the Bible is entirely false.

Yes religion is a lot of work, considering that its foundations are false.

I remember when the earth was flooding and we had to get every species of animal on to the boat to save them. We had problems with the dinasaurs because none of them seemed to be on the paperwork but they were adamant that they were told to get on the boat.

The boat was awfully crowded but it worked out in the end:)

Dinosaurs on the boat. I love that thought.

God made the dinosaurs. He loved them.

But he made them too big and they were unable to organise themselves efficiently to create a religion to worship him. He wasn't happy with the lack of worshipping.

Then he made humans! And taught them about hell! Worship or go to hell!

    ;)

    edit:

insert something here about other religions existing but there is still only one god. God is yet to clarify this. Which religion do we follow to get into heaven??

That may be true. Religion has a lot to answer for. Does not mean the Bible is false though. It's man that is the problem. Not the book. :)

You may think the bible is not false. I disagree.

Hmmm. You seem to be referring to me.

We are talking about a book that tells a story that is thousands of years old. Nobody can possibly state any factualities. If you thought I was stating a fact then you were mistaken.

Only the people who wrote the [pesky] holy books think they are talking about facts.

I don't just think it. I know it because I continually study it and many other reference information from all over the world. So you are saying there is not one bit of evidence in the entire Bible?

Oh! But it is. I love to see people realise what they are saying. You see. When making statements publicly, one must be very careful about stating factualities. Because, those statements can come back at you with ferocious speed when they are unfounded. As it is in this case....LOL

Did you even watch the video Cheap SEO? Spend your time watching the video to get an idea of why people can say things like "the Bible is false". If you can't sit through the hour don't bother posting in this thread, you will have nothing to respond about.

Great defense, if someone challenges you it's not worth your time talking to them. You'd think if you have so much energy and money invested in a religion you'd like to know what kind of historical credibility it has. Do you lend money to friends who haven't shown they can repay the loan?

I am not saying that. Who would be arrogant enough to say that.

My issue is simply with the existence of a god. Its creationism that I claim as false.

Read your bible and enjoy it. Reading is good.

    :)

ps. its funny how you lambast me for claiming to know that the bible is false but then go on to say you know the bible is not false.

I think what Cheap is saying is that, while you refute Christianity, the Bible obviously is still seen as something of a history text.

I'm about as far from Christian as they come, and the book, in many cases, is an absolute joke. But it is a historical record of a time when little else was recorded, so it can't be discarded completely.
