One thing I'm finding to be incredibly frustrating about being a webmaster is that my main website has hit a certain "medium" of hits per day and never goes above that point, no matter what I do. At about 200-250 visits/day, never more, that's all I can get - regardless of all of the PR, social bookmarking and everything else I've been trying hard at for the past 2 years. My last resolve is to rebuild the entire site with search engine friendly URLS (which it currently does not have). If that doesnt work, then I'm completely stumped. (this is a niche video site with 100% unique, personally "ripped & remastered" content). Has anyone else hit a certain number of web hits that they can never seem to increase, and how have you gotten around it?
Yes my blog has had the same thing happen. It's still worth it to me but annoying nonetheless. However now that I have learned some techniques here on the forums and through the errors with my blog my new Ebay site is sky rocketing! At least 1 1/2 hours if not more.
A niche site will attract a niche audience. It is logical that there is a limited audience at any given time for a specific subject. Being #1 search result on all search engines will not bring unlimited traffic. It only brings a good share of the traffic that is interested in the subject.
