I think that time will come like in 5 years.... when your eye will switch channels between real life and TV... Ok maybe not 5 years... but in 10 years for sure. And Also the internet is going to be the only thing people use. There will be no more TV, no more DVD player... or MP3 Player... You don't even need hard drives anymore or IPOD to put your songs in them. All you need is a fast internet connection and instead of logging online to check your mail. You log online to check your computer or mp3 database. Yes some of these things exists today but the interent is still slow in some parts of the world. Anyway we are lucky, we are living in an age where technology is jump 10x every year.....
I doubt if the TV era is over because people still enjoy sitting around their TV sets as a family to watch big sporting events, programs. As much as I like the internet, I still prefer watching sports on Tv as opposed to watching it on the internet because the atmosphere is totally different. Having said that, perhaps if I had a 21 inch wide screen monitor rather a 17inch standard things might be different.
I've not heard them say that complete phrase for a long time. Parts of it, but not the whole thing...
