Regarding their current business practice (frontrunning)...

What do you think will happen in the near future?

    Will they stop?
    Or will they continue?

Let's speculate and state your reasons please.

I believe this is a very difficult question to answer, and my own speculation is they will continue but with revised policy; maybe decreasing the time period (from four days to one day). Many people have told them to stop, but what they are doing is not illegal and a lucrative source of money... So revising the policy might be a good trade-off.

On another note, if they do continue the practice, do you think other registrars will follow suit?

They've already backed down to some extent - at least now there is a warning on their home page that wasn't there before the uproar of the last few days.

If the news headlines die down or people get distracted by other things, they'll probably keep going and cause other registrars to start doing the same thing.

Which would not be the end of the world: domainers with large existing portfolios like me would be better off, and the average webmaster would be worse off.

That doesn't make it right though.
