What I mean by out of shape is mainly there broke. With all this post-bigdaddy stuff going on it's driving me crazy and money lose as well. I so welcome competition from Microsoft not only because I am a PC geek but the webmaster community needs more choices. Instead of Google sending 80% of traffic I want MSN send that 80% of traffic. I used to love Google but since they went public I've always had problems and not having another engine that sends massive amounts of traffic is not good.

True, I think that monopolies just hurt the end user and competition is the only way to guaranty quality.

Right! That's why it's important to keep Google low and not giving it a chance to become a monopolist in search engine industry.

Google is nothing but a spam index and more and more people will stay away from Google because of this! Google is all about sites who can optimize their sites the best and has nothing to do with quality and that is why spam sites have good listing in the Google SERP's.
If you have a new great quality site but doesn't know how to spam google by optimizing your site then you can kiss your site and visitors goodbye! Don't even bother to submit it because it'll never be found.
I have several sites and when I search for my domain name(s) inGoogle my site shows up on page 3-5 but what is ahead of me????? Sites with scraped content and Google Ads!! I am getting REALLY REALLY tired of Google and their crappy spam index and I am 200% sure that other people are too and if all you find in the index is spam sites and no sites with real content then people will go to MSN likie I have!!
Anybody tried http://www.live.com? MSN's new search engine which is a huge difference compared to MSN and Google! Google is nothing but a crappy search engine anymore! One day you search for something and find it on the first page, next day you go back to find it again and it is not there because they changed the algo or something else they BETA test us with!! I hate Google :(

This is about what I think. Altho my thought differs a little. Lycos, Yahoo, and Ask were all big players at one time. They all had their day. IMHO, yes google will go down as a search engine someday. But I don't think it will dissapear completely. The big difference between google and everyone else is just how simple their home page is. Its strait forward and easy to use. I actually hate to use IE because it defaults to the MSN search instead of showing a "page not found". I like the errors better, they don't take forever to load.

I do think change is good. It keeps people on their toes. Weather it is google changing their algos or ms comming to the table with msn search.

The biggest problem with Google is they truly DO NOT know how to differentiate between an authorative and non-authorative site. PR is a very lame attempt at identifying authorative sites and is extreemly flawed. I can not see how just buying links on high PR sites to increase your PR can possible make you an authorative site. It is rubbish. In my niche, all industry organizations, which logically would be the authorative sites have PRs of 1-3, while MFA sites have PR5 or better. Clearly G is missing the boat on this and is compromising its very future by doing so.
