It's pretty clear to me that soon there will be the main stream people catching on that bidding web directories are a great way to get $1 backlinks and soon the spam, pharm, casino guys will start submitting. How do those of you using phplb plan to protect yourself from this?
Trying to plan ahead with my Bidding Web Directory.

Bidding web directories are not good as they are only for minting money by us as they simply place a link on top if someone gives more money than the other listing

Suppose on your bidding directory E.g

Alive and Aviva has purchased links and I place a bid that is above Aviva and
Alive(My directory is a PR4 one) Then only I will above them?

What is the use of it? only visitors to a lesser known directory!!!

I think Google may soon come out with a statement through Matt cutts on this!

    Who knows?
Most people knew that http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/ was a link farm, but why they sold all the spots out?
    It's even an authoritative site!

Do any of you really think that Google views these directories any differently than any other link farm?
