Wow. That user map really does show how small the world is and the huge variety of people who use Digital Point. I can now easily forgive those amongst us who can't speak perfect English. I only speak one language and I sure as hell do not get it right all the time.

I've seen some pretty bad English here, but it isn't something I'd want to make fun of somebody over

I have seen so many guys and girls writing really poor English, but can't correct them. Moreover, we can't suggest them to write good English.

I have seen quite a bit of people trying to speak English, but they always trip. For foreigners, a tip for you: Watch BBC an awful lot, you'll learn English pretty well.

OK...lets put it this way. DP is an international webmasters' forums. People here come from many non-English speaking countries. Their native language is not English...I don't think you'd like it if you spoke some basic Spanish, joined a Spanish speaking forum and someone posted a thread about "funny Spanish-speaking people of the forums" :)

No offense meant. I am from the US myself and I think what makes DigitalPoint so popular is its diverse member base. Think about it...we are talking about hundreds of nationalities here :)

Maybe , with poor language , the writer will bring , a good book, with really usefull content, but in poor language.

For example I have watched videos ( tutorial videos ) from a guy, who had poor eng.

I had watched lectures in english , but the teacher was from India (or Pakistan) . His lectures were really usefull for me .

But I agree , you can not use articles for your website, written in poor english .

Yes, watch the BBC if you love biasness and political correctness.

I see people speaking in broken English all the time, but the way I see it, their English is better than my Urdu, Chinese, French, etc. so fair play to them.

Anyone making fun of "foreigners" for their bad English needs to take a step back and consider how well they'd be able to communicate with the poster in the poster's native language.

I agree, though, that anyone offering rewriting or content creation with terrible English in their posts here shouldn't be doing business. The worst part is, they're probably selling to another person whose native language isn't English, so they probably won't notice the spelling and grammar errors.

Speaking as a native English speaker, and I'm sure the French, Germans, Chinese etc are the same, there are few things more offputting than a business's website that's written badly. Make an effort, don't always go with the cheapest guy.

Edit: but there's nothing worse than someone from the UK/USA/AU/CA speaking in bad English. Hell, most SE guys I know speak better English than half the native English speakers online...

From an article writer who claims to be a native English speaker: "Only nicest job I do boss. Pay $2/article and $1/rewrite". Ouch. I guess I would've gotten my money's worth there...

This thread is priceless. I love how you guys can s**t all over America and complain about us and this and that, but when you come onto an English-speaking forum, we better pave the way for your learning our language. And if we make fun of it just one time, you get completely bent outta shape. HYPOCRICY
