I wonder if everything(well, 95%) in the freebies forum is a lie.

    1) All the making few hundreds to few thousands in few seconds to few days are telling people to PM them(or OP will do the PM) usually what can be seen is the OP giving affiliate link through PM. Isn't doing that similar to open a thread and just dump the affiliate link ?

    2) I've been posted like 50 replies in different threads to try to obtain some freebies, somehow I only managed to get 4 replies, which all of them are affiliate link, 2 of them are redirecting the same site.

    3) Some intelligent members really impressed me, they bump their post counts without breaking the rules by posting in every thread "PM me for details". Surely he has the full advantage in defending himself because it all depends on what he say(e.g. "I am new and I want to get more information and blabla" .

    4) Some members are being fishy in a way, giving out free stuff without even knowing that if he has the rights to distribute it away, and if the owner wanted to claim for his rights, who's gonna responsible? DP. What even fancy, some people even distributing warez content where he don't even know that.

    5) Many has seen the "popularity" of the freebies forum and then starting to open irrelevant threads. An example : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=839118

    6) Giving freebies is a kind thing to be mentioned, but some threads are posting stuff like earning proofs from other sites, what a shame for doing this to earn money.

What is my purpose and point for suggesting the forum to be taken away,

    1) Freebies forum has became a forum to bump up post counts without breaking the rules.

    1) DP is not a warez forum.

    3) DP is gonna take full responsible if a certain content owner intend to claim his/their rights.

    4) Tour the forum and think for yourself.

    Agree with these two:

    2) I've been posted like 50 replies in different threads to try to obtain some freebies, somehow I only managed to get 4 replies, which all of them are affiliate link, 2 of them are redirecting the same site.

    4) Some members are being fishy in a way, giving out free stuff without even knowing that if he has the rights to distribute it away, and if the owner wanted to claim for his rights, who's gonna responsible? DP. What even fancy, some people even distributing warez content where he don't even know that.

    But not with:

    3) DP is gonna take full responsible if a certain content owner intend to claim his/their rights.

As a forum is not responsible for what the members post.
All they have to is remove the content.

I have not seen any freebie posted at the freebie forum unless going back on time to early threads so I believe it is mostly used to promote affiliate links or something fishy, that is why members post "pm me" instead of a direct link to the supposed freebie.

Otherwise they offer "easy-money" for sign up "free offers" which, from my point of view, is a deceptive practice comparable with asking "click on my AdSense."

    1) That's why we recently banned affiliate links via PM.

    2) Report them to a mod. Affiliate links in PMs are no longer allowed.

    3) If you see someone posting things like "PM me the details," report it. That's bumping, and it's already not allowed. If you want someone to PM you details, you should contact them privately via PM yourself.

    4) There's a reason we don't get involved in disputes and simple accusations of warez. We're not responsible for the specifics of deals between members. That's why we don't delete a thread or close it just b/c someone claims it's a scam, warez, etc. If you don't have solid proof, nothing we can do about it.

    5) That thread is entirely relevant. And it belongs in Freebies. Anything for sale at $5 or less belongs there.

    6) A lot of people give things away solely to market themselves. Their motivations are not our concern.

Thanks for your feedback, but the Freebies forum isn't going anywhere.
