Has anybody seen "The Fourth Kind"? The director and actress make the claim, at the beginning, that the movie is real. There is so much disinformation about facts, where the film was produced, recreated footage - that the film has received a complete ignore by anybody interested in the "truth" aspects of the film. I watched it - via Netflix - and thought it was terrific; not knowing the history. This week, it's finally now at Redbox. Great film if you just watch it not knowing anything about the show. I'm curious what others thought about the show.
It is really scary , but because actress at the beginning say that it all is true footage and they show both real footage and recreation. Thinking that SOMETHING really exists and happens is scary. If from the beginning you think is not true - it will be not scary at all.
If any of the key scenes - or the general plot is true - are accurate, that is an amazing show. And I hope won't be traveling to Nome anytime soon. The # of federal authorities who visited Nome for an investigation was very odd - if true.
It is a kind of movie, which i like the most when i am least interested in watching a movie, same was the situation, i was not willing to watch this movie but my friend forced me to watch it and we started it off. In first minutes i was fully lost in movie, it was a nice movie.
George Noory, on CoasttoCoastAM, said the film was 100% fiction - when a caller asked about the movie. George had never heard of the show, and was obviously reading off-line on the topic. The show has factual points - but where is the separation? Unknown.
I watched this movie and thought the footage was authentic (in the hypnotist's office) until things got carried away. I quickly dismissed the film's initial claims when I found myself watching footage I've never seen before (and I am well read on the paranormal and ufos). Surely, had any of this actually been leaked, it would be all over the Internet already. And if the government is as hell-bent on covering up such things, as most people believe (including myself), this film would never have been made. Remember when the Blair Witch Project came out? The studios brilliantly duped people into believing it was actual footage with one of the most effective marketing and promotional campaigns ever thought up. I left the theater believing it! If I had known it was all fake, I would have thought the movie was rubbish. This is one of the only times in my life when I was thankful of my ignorance as it provided me with many terrifying thrills. So yeah, The Fourth Kind is fiction. It is not based on any similar events that happened in Nome, Alaska. That is, unless, you consider a "ufo" sighting enough reason to take these claims seriously. If that were the case, the events in this film could have happened anywhere.
I watched it... If the story is real - we're all f****d. =) If it's real this is really disturbing and scarry, but interesting at the same time. I love paranormal stuff, but I must say I'm scared of it too. But if all this is not real - it's stil very conviencing... =)
