I'm may put www.theforumzone.com up for sale in the next 1 - 2 weeks and wanted to get some feedback from people on an estimated value. I've bought quite a few websites but have never really sold any worth mentioning.

    Some basics...

What's would be included: Everything - content, domain, vB license.

Revenue: $0 - I've never put any ads on the site.

Traffic: 1,000 - 2,000 uniques a month. I haven't really promoted it at all in the last year. it's just been sitting there collecting dust.

    Links:

    Yahoo: 20,700
    MSN: 128 (nice, lol)
    Google: 307

    Pages:

    Yahoo: 21,500
    MSN: 367
    Google: 844

    Threads: 1,414
    Memebers: 823

    DMOZ listed here

What do you think a ballpark value of the site is?

Its hard to say - less then 1000 pages indexed in google, nearly dead forum - no revenue.

I would say, not much unfortunately.

I'd say I have to agree that at the moment it isn't worth much as it stands. Having said that, if you were to work on it a bit you could turn it into a decent resource.

The frontdoor is a bit disappointing, however, if you were to replace what you have now with a CMS, for example, Joomla, and built the content as well as promoted the forums a bit, you could turn it around. It may take a few months but it would increase it's value, imho.

That's probably the road I'm going to take. I hired someone last week who's going to start making changes for me in the near future. I'm in no hurry to sell so I can take my time:)
