I thought I had escaped the flu after Grace had it last week but the nasty little bug caught me!

Just wondering if anyone else has had it and what you did to get rid of it?

I think I have only had the flu once in my life. There were times before then I thought I had it, but once I had it I knew I never had it before. It kicked my butt. I always get my flu shot now. Which reminds me I am late to get mine this year. :)

Hope you get to feeling better. Not much you can do but rest.

yeah, I reckon working flat out for the last 3 months has finally taken its toll. I don't normally get ill either but I guess I'm a bit more run down than normal lol.

Grace had it for 2 weeks so I'm drinking litres of fruit juice and water.

How does being ill effect the rest of you guys with businesses?

Best bet is to sleep, and sweat it out off you. They wont give medicine for flu over at the docs so a nice cup of Tea with honey in like my ma always gave me, and rest is always the best cure :)

The best things to do are keep warm, get plenty of bed rest in a well ventilated area and drink plenty of warm fluids such as soup. The best supplements to take are those which will boost your immune system such as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Echinacea and sucking Zinc lozenges if you have a sore throat. Also cut down on dairy products as they produce mucous.

I hope you feel well soon

I get rid of it by staying active, put on a ton of clothes and eat foods containing chilli or curry so you sweat it out of you, generally im totally over the flu within a day or two, last time I had it was 2 weeks ago.

I think I have a pretty good immune system though which helps, I dont take any antibiotics or anti viral drugs when im ill, I just let my body get rid of it itself.

I have the flu at the moment. Oh Joy!

So I am off work and bored out my nut. I'm starting to feel better, but I've had it for awhile now coz I'm a smoker and I have a very SHITTTTTTYYYYYY immune system.

The worst flu I ever had was the year I got a flu-shot. Never again. I'll take my chances.

That's the downside of being married, Weirfire. I bet Grace was all sniffy and wanted cuddles 'n' stuff. Normally you would say "Feck-off you disease-ridden bag of pus. Keep your snot-spray to yourself." or something like that anyway. When you're married you have to be all sympathetic and nice. Next thing you know, you have the flu as well. Bit of a bummer.

Fluids and rest. It's all you can do.

    Flu = not nice

I had the A type flu when i was in Russia (i was around 12) straight after i had chicken pocks. I felt like i was about to die. I think i was holucinating for 3 days. It was like... You fall asleep at home and wake up in hospital. Grrrrr nasty shit.

    Hope you get well soon!

Dont believe the bullshit about fruit juice and the like, if you have it, eat red meat and get as much protien as possible.
