Every couple of years growing up the "new" system was coming out with graphics that would blow you away. 8 bit nintendo, 16 bit sega genesis, sega 32, neo geo, Atari 64, PSone, PS2, XBOX, PS3. Looking back now I am shocked when I try to contemplate how that blob of blue blocks ever passed for sonic the hedgehog or anything resembling an animated character. And after getting my PS3, PSone games seem almost as bad. When was the first time that you can remember really seeing good graphics? For me I really remember the PSone making a huge impression on me.
Top Gear on SNES. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvnYFrBfVNo I can remember showing the graphics to my mum as an example of how computer games were now at a 'simulator' level
HAH showing off Top Gear's graphics Well I started off with the PS one. The ps2 was a major improvement, but not much. When Uncharted 2 hit on the ps3, watching it on an HD TV looked "Really Good".
Mortal Kombat 3 had that impression for me in the earlies. After that may have been the GTA 3. But so many games blow you away like Crysis or Half-Life 2.
I don't remember exactly when I started to see good graphics..But I saw the best graphics in the game GTA - VC...
I don't remember exactly when did i see good graphics, but i am sure that NFS CARBON left me stunned, its amazing.
