Just got a new site up and running, its now my main focus.
Since its brand spanking new, what do you suggest I start doing.

What do you all do when you first get page going to get traffic and what not? Directories, submitting?

    Thanks!

Keep up with the content daily in the beginning especially.

Submit to major search engines and then to a hundred directories a month.

Actually I play it save with the submissions to directories, some people say that anymore then a hundred new admissions/back links per month can get you flagged by google. PLEASE VERIFY...

    Thanx all

Why is this in the Adsense forum? Man, you guys are really making the moderators work. Please try to place your threads in the right forums, especially those of you who have over 100 posts to your name. This should go in General Marketing, I would imagine, but certainly not in the Adsense forum. I mean, come on, guys, let's help the mods out a little, shall we?

I have to agree with you...
For some reason, the google section is getting bombed with posts that have nothing to do with google, adsense, adwords, etc.

I just report the thread and ask to have it moved...and yes, that adds to the mods work (and they do this for free?).

Too many people here do not read what the forum is about before they post.

I suggested a week ban for improper posting...will see how that goes.

    1 Build contents.
    2 Build more contents.
    3 Submit to Search Engines.
    4 Build more interesting contents.
5 About one year later serve Adsense ads.

    I missed:
6 Get some good backlinks. Won't be a problem because of (4) above. It would be shameful to ask for a backlink after the third web page.

The first thing i'll do is spend hours or even days choosing my favorite domain name.

AdSense ads and visiting our own sites will NOT help you get into the Google index. The regular Google crawler and the AdSense bot are separate. (Well, they do share cached data, but otherwise do not effect one another)

    1. Brainstorm on what it will be about and how it will look
    2. Ask myself is this really what I wanna do and am I committed?
    3. Design the layout in Photoshop / Slice it / then code it.
    4. Make sure there are no errors in the code especially in the <HEAD> because if you miss something it may suck for you when it gets indexed.
    5. Add content?

    Get a blog.
Post tensers (and ping those blog directories) and the full contents in the website. A sure way to get indexed within 5 days by Yohoo! and MSN Search. Indexed by Google a few days later.
    Ronaldinho.cn was indexed this way.

    1. Firstly, you want to figure out what you want in your webpage

    2. After you figure out what type of website you want, you now decide whether you want it to be done via flash, html, dhtml, php etc.

    3. Draw a template of your website on a piece of paper with the types of images/text in the area you want them to be.

    4. Now it is time to draw up a website structure plan. This is where you decide how many links you want, and where you want each page to link to.

    5. Its now time to make your website. From here on, depending on what type of website you are making (html, flash etc..) you choose a specific software to create your website. For example, Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Photoshop, Paintshop Pro etc.
