Hi All I have started a forum on fishing and am struggling to get members, i have 2 members in the first week. i expected more, is this usual? anyone got any tips to increase sign ups The forum is at www.fishy-forum.com. Any suggestions welcome.
comment on travel and leisure type of blogs. create some values,some fishing articles and tips,get some videos from youtube and post them. make sure you bookmark each such page which contains valuable info.
just some free input.... i took a look at your forum and seen alot of 0 next to the cats that don't look good. It don't look active so that could be putting people off. i take it that you are a angler if so you should start off a few threads. Also you could get a few of your friends to sign up and start posting for you. just my 2 cents
Well here are a few tips - A Forum with a catchy look always draws attention - Long descriptive descriptions under the forums with punctuation and capitalization are always a plus - Dont spam the world about it because you'll end up getting enemies not members.
u have to strart by posting some threads with very attractive topics and create some users then submit some artilces related to those topics with the name of the forum in the about author box also u can create some videos related to ur topics , and start ur description with the link of the forum "videos websites is a very good source of traffic" wish u all the luck
What make it so you have to "enter" the forum, why not go straight to it? There seems to be a lot of competition for a forum on fishing (I've seen tons). What do you want to offer with your forum that others don't? If the answer is nothing, why not just use the existing forums? You may want to improve the graphic at the top a bit. Work on improving features to make others from other fishing forums want to come to your forum.
Agreed, drop the introduction page its pointless and make your site go straight into the forums, add some posts to all ur categorys, if people see they are blank it will put them off, keep posting every day and get as much quality content as you can, also try to get some quality backlinks Woc
do a little paid posting to generate content and you need to make a lot of the first threads to fill the forum. get your buddys to help you.
starting a forum out of nothing is very hard! I have toe be fair i wouldnt put a minute work in this forum. There are alot of forums on this topic already find a diffrent topic which lacks a forum.
Get 10 friends to make 5 different accounts, tell them to start 10+ threads each and post in each others, then you will have a lot lol, this is a technique used by a lot to start forums.
I suggest you should try to write a free ebook about any topic relate to your forum. Then spread it to your friends, subsciber and forumers. Surely it'll work

Hire people to post in the forum. Join other fishing forums and post consistently with your forum in the signature line. Add some video and picture threads.
