While I do agree with part of the article, I also disagree with it.

There may be one day when ideas are ran out of and a lot of games are quite similar already, but have a fan following. But then I think back to what I played when I was a kid. I loved Sonic, I still do. And I like to replay those games occasionally, but technology has improved, giving gaming the chance to improve and make use of that technology, and I think the same will be true in the future. We're already partially there with some games. The WiiBoard gaming experience will probably become the norm, possibly along with 3D gaming, but with improved technology. And then even if the games are similar, to even what they are now, they'll have a new edge for gamers.
Give me a motion board on my 360 and I'll be in heaven. No wonder the companies are copying each other, one has what we want, but not on the right platform! I've had two wiis and sold em both, and wouldnt/couldnt pay more for a wiiboard, but if it was something that came as standard in the package, i'd be one happy gamer :).

Hey MixedBag thanks for your input. Of course I did mention that ideas won't just suddenly stop. It's going to be a slow fall for the industry. Slowly they will run out of ideas, the good developers of our current time are going to be to old to develop anymore and really what is Nintendo without Miyamoto? That takes out 1 company that has had massive success but due to their lack of third party games they are out of the race. I'd hope the gaming industry goes on forever but no one can guarantee that.

Right, except it will eventually crash. It won't just suffer forever.

The gaming industry is not going anywhere. With the economy the way it is more people are probably staying at home and playing games. Wii was innovative with what they did with the controller and I think the online gaming industry will only get bigger. If all you do is play games then yeah you would get bored of it, but the same can be said about anything.
