Is it really the end of search engine optimization ? Take a look.. http://www.webcredible.co.uk/user-friendly-resources/web-usability/wikiasari-seo.shtml
In short, "no". Longer answer, if you're good at SEO you're good at usability, making lots of useful content easily accessible, etc....
They are right , seo cant die. Because of seo the website can make accessible to the internet and we always find solutions on how can we improve the seo technique. Without seo, there is no search engine and there is no link or website to access to the internet
SEO will die when all search engine and online marketing business die. can u imagine that ? if u have answer of this question than u will get the all answers.
I honestly don't think Wikipedia coming out with a new search engine will lead to the death of SEO. Even if they did manage to shake things up a bit (which may not even get close to happening) SEO would just modify and continue on imo.
SEO will never end.. 'Coz it's a continuous process. Without SEO: * NO maintaining and building websites that get ranked highly on the major search engines. * NO analyzing of sites and modifying it to allow search engines to read and index it more easily. SEO goes on and on....
wikipedia? the same guys who have a user edited encyclodedia full of errors and misinformation? lol Applying that concept to a search engine sounds wacky, I think people will stick to Google. Even if it catches on a bit they'll still be a very small percentage of search engine market. I did take this good information out of that article Google has its free analytics package, which allows them to take an inside peek to see which sites have the most conversions. It could figure that sites with more conversions are effectively votes for that site by users and should be ranked higher. I wonder how true that is, i know that data is gold and that's why they're offering free analytics.
Yes there may be an improved version of SEO in future But it may be not SEO but denoted as some other thing like page optimization!
Absolutely SEO can (and should) die. I do it and still find it misleading at best and minipulating at worst. The internet as a whole can die, which is why I don't suggest leasing domain names out for 100 yrs. All that being said, this will not be the monster that kills it. People will get sick of working for free for a for-profit organization quickly enough. Wikipedia was needed as a collective voice for adding to our biased encyclopedia system. Besides 100's of people know more about a subject than just a few. My question is: How will humans actually rank these sites? Search words are as different as the people that enter them. The absolute best you can expect from humans is "is this site a quality site or spam" then filter out the spam. YOU WILL STILL NEED ALGORITHMS! To expect humans to sort and rank every site on the net is just too cumbersome for a job with no pay.
I think wikipedia will not succeed in it It has to be a new algorithim from some search Engines that can take on google a
SEO will die if search engines decide to do totally random rankings, wow that would be awesome, imagine searching for shoes and getting cheese I cant wait
SEO can't die but it can evolve -- SE's will always have an algorithm and people will always try to second guess / beat that algo. That's why we all love PR so much
