The End of Google !!!!!!!!

    Hi everyone,

I am seeing many threads about the Page Rank update so I decide to change a little this section, lets talk about the end of google, what do you think about the end of google? , do you think that there is an end for google?,

Google is the world's largest search engine and was founded back in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. They made a huge effort and hire the BEST technical geniuses both from universities and from companies like Microsoft, IBM, and Yahoo. No doubt, it seems like a brilliant and foolproof strategy.

But, if you take a peek into the history; you’ll see everything that was on the top and seemed to be undefeatable had eventually suffered a dethronement either from the inside or the outside.

Now, the question arises if Google is to be eventually end, how will that happen?

For instance, the German government was dethroned by its own people without a single shot being fired. While on the other hand, Microsoft was dethroned by Google in the web, which was unbelievable to even Bill Gates himself.

So, both is possible in Google’s case too. It can be dethroned from the outside or inside. Let’s analyze both conditions:

    • Inside Flaws That Can End Google
Google is no doubt a remarkable name in the online business industry. But, there is a basic flaw in its strategies that can eventually kill the company. One of it is being doomed to disappoint most of his employers and making it easier for them to leave the company. By doing this, Google is in fact, sowing the seeds of its own devastation. And it is quite possible that this flood of Google employees leaving the company and having a lot of experience can think to start a company of their own and can start giving a hard time to Google. And even if we assume that they do not have enough money to launch their ideas with their experience. But, there are always the venture capitalists on Sand Hill Road who are willing to invest in world-beating ideas and former Google employees can join hand with them to launch a company who can give a real competition to Google. So, it can be said that the end of Google can be an inside job.

    • Outside Threats That Can Lead to End of Google
Secondly, the chances are there that some other company can come and can dethrone Google from the position it is enjoying currently. There are billions of human beings with trillions of “best ideas”, who knows if anyone’s idea strikes and next Google is created.

We’ve seen that there are 50% chances of both conditions. But, there is another 50% chance which says that Google will not end so easily. Let’s see what happens!

This is copyright by me :)

    Have a nice day everyone

Only when another Super human Search Engine is created with artificial intelligence we can think of Google's end...

:) Google owns the internet at the moment > so if it dies the internet dies to :) only if the geek who owns facebook doesn't code a better search engine > which is possible

Ok so you really think that ex Google employees will take their experience and knowledge and build something similiar to defeat Google. I really dont think it will happen.

Although you are not to far off from the possibility that Google will find plenty of bumps in the road. Where there will be up and coming companies that could either some competition or gives Google enough interest to buy them out. The later is usually what happens. The small timers being slurped up and bought out by Google.

I completely agree Romioaa ... What was before Google? Oh right it was Yahoo theUNDEFEATABLE Champions right??? Well they got their asses kicked innit?

Google's strategy at the outset seems brilliant mix raw passion and energy with more tenured and mature wisdom (experience), but is that all you really need?

    1. Google is ranked one of the best place to worked in. Google experiences is the sum of knowledge of its employees over the years, it is like saying hiring Intel engineers to create another Intel chip, not really possible even with all the money in the world.

    2. This is possible, technology is ever changing, no doubt, but Google has shown uncanny ability to adapt and improve upon the ideas of its competitors.

Of course nothing can be ruled out but the end of Google is really not in sight at least in the near future.

Actually they didnt. Yahoo and Google can be seen as two different SE that go in different directions. Yahoo is more business oriented and Google is more webmaster related.

One thing that nobody has said yet is governments stepping in. Look what happened to microsoft from the EU case. I think there biggest concern besides competition is governments stepping in. As google continues to move into new areas, you also suffer from spreading yourself to thin. I think it might take years, but there is always someone or some group to come along and knock them off. Look at the biggest retailers, there was no one that could beat sears, then kmart came along. No one was going to beat kmart then walmart came along. Who knows what the internet will be like in the next 10 years?

It's always possible that some other player will come to the SE market and head to the top, but it does not seem likely in the near future. However, I certainly agree with popcornmonster on the government issue. It is quite possible that Google will find itself with anti-trust law cases soon enough.

First of all anything in the world of business is possible. However, it is not probable that Google will fall anytime soon. Google did not dethrone Microsoft on the Internet because Microsoft never had the throne to begin with.

If you look at the companies that were over taken by Google, you can see why. Yahoo was king of search and Internet prior to Google. However, instead of building for success, they did a bunch of failed ventures. They bought Geocities to expand their ad network. However, they did nothing amazing to expand that. It is the same old drab site it always was except they added their paid hosting that sucks.

They also tried to take over the auction market by creating their own auctions. Yahoo auction were a success when they were free. However, they decided overnight to start charging fees and everyone rushed back to eBay. These were only two failed attempts of many that Yahoo did.

As far as Microsoft, they never had huge success on the Internet, they focused on the software side. Their failures came with releasing products before they were ready and scrambled to fix them later. They claim the huge market of software because most computers come bundled with it and people are familiar with it. You see this slowly losing ground as more and more people are unhappy with Vista.

When Google does something, they go full force and they have great success. Until they decide to change the way the run the company, you will not see them dethroned anytime soon .

the only scenario I can see that will dethrone google is if they start becoming very 'corporate' like Microsoft did. I could see this starting with things like search engine favoritism, data mining, etc.

This is a totally different situation that cant really be compared. Microsoft had deals with computer manufacturers to be THE operating system and software provider for them. Therefore if you bought a computer from 95% of manufacturers you got microsoft products and that was it.

Now if Google started making deals with Internet providers to be the only search engine accessible from their network ( never gonna happen ) then and only then would the government think about stepping in.

There are thousands of search engines to choose from, it just happens that most people choose google, and you cant fault google for putting out a superior product.

I think the Google will die by the time the internet dies too. Not the other way around. Unless they become too big-headed and extreme monopoly occurs.
