A person claiming to be Ric Silver says he owns the Electric Slide and that it is not permissible to publish the step pattern or videos for the Electric Slide.

    What are your views on...
    1. Supporting the Copyright of dance steps
    2. someone being sued over publishing the steps (Wikipedia does this now)
There is a lot of information about the Electric Slide on other websites:
    Electric Slide on Wikepedia
    Electric Slide on CNET
    Electric Slide on Gizmodo
    Electric Slide Video Statement
EFF recently filed suit against the man who claims to have created the popular line dance "The Electric Slide" for misusing copyright law to remove an online documentary video that included footage of people trying to do the dance.
You can read additional opinions for dancers about the Electric Slide on Dance Forums

Additional Note about the Electric Slide:
Looking on Wikipedia, there is an ongoing dispute about whether or not a Mr. Ric Silver was the inventor of the dance. You can get information on the Wikipedia about both sides of this dispute here.

And since this is an issue that might affect webmasters, I want to ask if you believe there may be an issue of this person trying to stop other sites from publishing the Electric Slide so that the owner can optimize his website?
