The Effect of Graphics

Hey guys, I want your opinions on this. How much do you think graphics and the overall website design add to boosting your conversion rate?

I don't have much experience in internet marketing so I couldn't answer from that perspective, but I am a consumer and I can say I am more likely to buy from a site that has professional looking graphics than from a cheap looking sales letter site. It ups the trust factor and makes me think that I'm buying from a business, not from some guy in his mom's basement.

Now, I'm not talking about some flash site with screaming graphics ready to melt your eyeballs out. I'm talking about a crisp looking sales letter page with a sleek header, catchy product image, a good looking "buy now" button and some sort of a background image.

On the other hand, you have a sales letter page with an okay header graphic, plain black text on a white background and a simple html link to your payment processor.

From a consumer's perspective wouldn't you be more compelled to buy from the more professionally looking website?

I'm asking this because a lot of "gurus" say to concentrate on the copywriting and not on the graphics. Is this a good thing to do?

Tell me about your stories or insights on this issue from a business owner or consumer's point of view. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks so much.

A very good and Delicious food ..packed in toilet paper or some one month old news paper.
    will you try it?

I have redesigned many of my clients website after much struggle as its hard to convince someone that there site is not looking good :)
And the results were terrific. Sales almost doubles as well as site viewing time.

You buy from people you trust and a lot of that is the impression you glean from their site.

Ya i too believe that the outlook of the sales product must be designed in an attractive mane so as to draw the attention of people towards your product.I think nobody will see to the product if there is no marketing or if the graphics used are not attractive.Graphics play an important role in the market.
