hello all A while ago I encountered a claim that copied design (only design - the location of navigation bars, the location of images and their size, fonts etc... - but not the content) - some say that search engines notice design copying - so if i'm creating two websites using the same exact template format - but the whole content is totally different- images, alts, meta tags, etc.... - one of these sites should get a minor penalty on SE's. Has someone encountered such a problem before? have you also heard about this claim before? I know the msn had something like it on 2004 or 2005. Thanks BZ
i doubt it, css is pretty much standard, if css is copied from somewere else the chances are its going to be a good design, i don't think it can take into account the way in which a site is designed unless its taking images from somewere else
i suppose if you have two documents with near enough identical markup it could be regarded as the same. having said that if the actual content is different, it would be classed as a seperate site.
