The DP article posted today about why you might be ranking lower than sites with poorly-targeted keywords, fewer keywords and poorly-written content was quite involved but quite interesting. I have yet to understand the seemingly random politics that is SEO, but this article is a could one for me to save and study.
You mean this > http://moz.com/blog/why-you-might-b...-fewer-links-worse-targeting-and-poor-content It's Friday, so part of their thing to do a whiteboard thing... My fav word in the title is "might" thats a cool word don't you think?
I don't know. What does "might" mean to you? The title is what most caught my eye, though. This entire presentation really did provide some helpful tips, but I still have a lot to learn about SEO.
Well "might" in reported speech would be expressing the "possibility" or more a possibility based on a condition of criteria "perhaps" being fulfilled or unfulfilled, like the past of "may" but quite as likely not to, as it is only a "possibility". LOL it's just me winding you up Alyssa as I look at Moz from a diffrent perspective as 99.99% of others, but I am sure you learned a lot spending your time gaining knowledge on their site. I gather many find it highly informative, at least that seems to be quite a general consensus. I think I picked up a snippet or two over the years if I think hard enough. Here is a heads up in SEO for you for each person they have spending time on their site it is one metric that counts in their favour for their SEO. The same for here and any site...hence I always annoy everyone with the opposite to what 99.99% say about blog comments, forum posting etc etc. I exaggerate there a little with my 99% though LOL
Moz is a great place to get a start on that. Check out their intro to SEO here:http://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo. As well there is another beginners guide from KISSmetrics which is another great website:http://blog.kissmetrics.com/seo-guide/. Those should help you get a great grasp of what SEO is all about. But definitely keep an eye on Moz's YOUmoz. This is a blog that is a collection of articles from some of the most brilliant minds in SEO (http://moz.com/ugc). All in all you are in a great place there to get enough of a foundation to start experimenting yourself. From there experimenting yourself is what is going to get you an in depth knowledge of what works and what doesn't for your site. Hope this helps!
