    THE DOD MODEL MADE EASY!

    1. The DOD model is a simplified version of the OSI Model.
    2. DOD model came into existence because the department of defence wanted a simplified version of OSI model.
    3. The DOD model has four layers as compared to OSI Model which has seven.
    4. Its easier to manage four layers then seven.
    5. The process layer also called the Application layer has FTP, TFTP,NFS,SMTP,SNMP,X Window as the protocols.
    6. The Host to Host layer has TCP, UDP, as the protocols.
    7. The Internet layer has IP, ARP, RARP, BOOIP, ICMP as the protocols.
    8. The Network layer has CSMA/CD as the protocols.

Now my question to u is, which is the better model DOD or OSI Model!
