This site as been on the first page of google since last May, ranking between 3 and 5 for its keyword. Until i have notice that at time it rankings just disappeared from google for as long as a week. Then it would come back on google and rank again in the top 5 for its keyword for a day or two and then just disppear again from google page rankings. Even when i search for its keyword in google i still can find it What is happening? Have any of you guys experienced this before? http://www.littlegiraffeblanky.com
This happened with me when i changed the CMS i was using on my website. Because it also changes the URL's and when google did not find indexed pages, it removed them and the rankings of my website dropped like rain. Not sure what happened in your case but it also happens when you change the meta section of the indexed pages.
If it dos not take long say a few days to a week, it also may be the "google dance" during which things are "revolving"
it is calling google dance so don't worry just do off page activity and generate quality backlinks for your website.
were you doing any backlink at that time, if so then google is trying to shuffle your site and it would normally settle after a few days. If you changed your title, this would also affect how google finding a place for you in the result page.
This is juggling of your rankings, we say it's a Google Dance. I would say Google is taking your exam, don't worry at all, keep doing what are you doing till now. Don't try to do something else or different, don't make changes in your Meta Info or site content. If you are already in Top position and facing Google Dance, keep doing only quality link building in quality sites. You will get the stick position.
As the rest said, it's normal... there is no problem at all but don't just sit down, build more backlinks from relevant site!
I have exactly same observation with few of my websites. I have one keyword on the First page of Google and I dont build new links for more than 3 months already. But it still jumps away from page 1 every week or so and then comes back. I dont have same problem with most of my other rankings, but with this specific keyword it happens all the time. However I noticed, that if i build just 1-2 good links for this keyword per month, it tends to stay on the first page without jumping away every week. So just build 1-2 good links to it every 2 weeks and it will be less jumping.
I think it's just a google dance. If it keeps going back to the top then you're safe. Just keep building links to keep your position.
