the different between CMF and CMS..?

    I've never heard of a "CMF" - what is a CMF ?

    yeah.. i know..if CMF is Content Management Framework. but i mean... i want to know.. about the different in technically..

    Well.. again.. i hadnt heard of a "CMF" before this post.. but, in general any "framework" is something you can use to build systems on -- So i am GUESSING that a CMF is a Framework on which you could create your own new, custom CMS.. A CMS is a usable system already built.

    I'm not a developer, so someone else may be able to better explain, but here's what I understand:

    CMS is something you can just install and use, like WordPress.but Drupal and Joomla is a frameworks - they allow you to write code for your site easier and better, but installing them as-is doesn’t give you a site...Rails is a server-side interpreter (for Ruby) like PHP..
