Hi. I've googled it, but still don't see a decent answer The example is very specific: a bounce rate of 50% in Overview, and a drop offs of around 70% in Visitors flow, at the STARTING PAGES (ain't it suppose to be the same thing?). Can anyone please explain how is that possible? Thank you.
I believe bouncing is when someone leaves the way they came in, while drop offs is when they leave after visiting one page. So if you were to go to a website through a link, and within a few seconds hit the back button, you've just bounced. However, if you stayed and read a few minutes of the content and then left, you've just dropped off. This is my interpretation of it, so I'm not positive how accurate it is.
Drop offs also can be counted when visitor came from another page on your site and left it from this last page.
Bounce rate means that people came to certain page on your site and left the site immediately. You should understand what exactly can scare your visitors.
