Hello everybody. :) I'm new to the forum and I've completed 10 posts. I thought I'd start a new thread on a subject that interests me, and I know it interests some other forum members too because I picked it up from another thread here. I've been earning a living as a professional writer in various media ever since I graduated high school so the distinction between the following two terms is not necessarily crystal clear to me and I would like to know what other forum members think about this question:

What do you think the difference is between a copywriter and a content writer?

Simply, copywriters write copy, which is promotional material. They are a specialized form of content writers, at least in my eyes, because I count copy as content.

Please do a search - this topic has been discussed in numerous other threads. We try to discourage people from asking the same common questions repeatedly.
