Hey I have been working on this site for quite a while now, and luckily today is the big day, I have released my newest website, and soon to be greatest . Without further a due I present to you: the Dev Network It is an IT and Developer community with more than just forums. I hope you like it please give me some reviews and constructive criticism.
Site looks well designed and loads fast, not too original though. Might want to get a logo and place it at the top and move the navigation buttons down a bit. The buttons don't form in a straight line BTW, but that was probably intended. Clicking on community on the left menu leads to a dead link. You have a lot of categories in the forum, maybe combine similar topics such as C/C#/C++.
It will be original once the community is running and the reviews. Besides, I only found 1 other game developer forum in the net. the logo is there, but the style makes it small, but its not that important: What do you mean the buttons are not on a straight line? I'm pretty sure they are? And the link is not dead, it leads to a comingsoon sign because that part is being developed yet. Thanks for the review, will take in consideration about the forum categories.
Whoa thats weird, I think its you: Firefox: IE: Besides my site programmer would have noticed beforehand and told me if that was the problem. It might be because of your resolution, or the ads? I have 1280x1024.
Yeah, I think it is because of the resolution, I tried it with 1280x1024 and it looks fine like you posted above. If you drop to even a lower resolution (by making the window size small) the buttons form in a U-shape:
It is supposed to be a fluid theme... What do you think is the problem, the right and left ad squares?
Not sure, but there is no ad square on the upper-right at the home page. But when I go to the forum, the right ad square appears.
I just removed the ads, try again. EDIT: I reduced my screen size, it was fine until it got to 800x600, but I don't think most people have 800x600.
I registered I used to do a lot of C/C++ and VB programming years ago, but now not as much. I'll still check out your forums though
thanks again for the feedback, if only I could get more. Oh and if your interested in some Moderator jobs, I need one, that is, if you want to stay active.
