www.1stsearchenginerankings.com/ Not a guide really just alot of useful info I have compiled. The secret of cracking the Google code is in two words "building links". It is harder than it sounds and easier than you think. My blog gives good pointers and I plan on starting some tools soon as well. Good luck!
1. Get lots of high quality links gradually. 2. Create unique content, and add them gradually. 3. Don't worry about superfluous stuff such as meta-tags. 4. Network with other ppl in your niche. 5. Give your site the appearance of being a personal site so getting links is easier.
Get good number of QUALITY links and provide unique content , sitemap. And finally keep in touch with chat forums, SEO articles from expert authors, and Google to update the knowledge of Algorithm updations and implement those.
