I was reading around some blogs today and I have realized that people still using comment spam and adding links in them. If most of the blogs are with nofollow tags now so what is the deal in spamming blogs??
or maybe spammers are hoping to get direct traffic from these blogs??

Moreover I was checking on seoblackhat.com and I have found a related post where the author wonder if a “nofollow” link actually works as a vote against a site, cuz if a site is getting a large percentage of nofollow links it may hold a red flag on how spammy it is.
    what is your thoughts ?

A "nofollow" link is not a vote against a site otherwise everyone will be blog spamming with their competitor's link - it just tells the search engine that you're not voting for that link.

Then why do blog spammers still spam?
    - to get traffic, especially on a popular blog.
    - some search engines do not support that attribute, e.g. Ask.com.
    - not all blogs use "nofollow" so the spammers are taking a chance.

Well, most blogs now have learnt the lesson and are taking precautions; about 99% comment spam proofing can be obtained. ;)

agnivo007 is correct. Take Wordpress for example, it's a great piece of blogging software but if you have a popular blog then your comments queue can be be absolutely bogged down by spam. Wordpress' plugin system is fantastic in that it allows you to easily install modifications that further prevent those wretched spammy comments cluttering up your site.

Edit: ha! I sound like I'm endorsing them! I should be on the payroll... ;)
