Why on earth would anyone have to afix a disclaimer to something that came out of Hollywood. I think it pretty much goes without saying that movies in general, especially those on the left coast ARE fiction.

Anyone that does not recogize that needs their head examined.

This is as per the recomendation of bishop(or cardinal?) in india.Even they said it is for only adults who are able to make decission what is true and what is fiction. In india you won't know what thing can go about religion. there are so many religions and casts in india.

I haven't read the book; I haven't seen the movie. But I've read a lot about it. It sounds like Brown nailed the controversy on this one, and hype ensued. Some of the reviews I've read of the book say that Brown doesn't have a leg to stand on with some of his theories; most of it apparently falls apart on deeper inspection. But it at least opened the door to the study of the roots of Christianity, most of which hides under historic muck.

    by the way,
The film was released to packed houses in India on Friday, 26th May 06.
So after long discussions, meetings and contraversies the film released atlast though after one week of its world premier. In three of India's states, the film is not being released.
But now the discussion about the central minister scruitining the film is coming forward wheather his move was right or not. This is the right of censor board.
So things are always on lol

I saw it last night and I agree: a nice movie to see once. It was good, not great. I hadn't read the book but I more or less knew the story when I went into the theater. The main problem lies with the 2 main characters: they're really flat and I didn't find myself caring about them. They more or less get thrown through the story without much development. Who were they? I dunno. A lot of the effects were stunning, like the flashback scenes. But does the story have any basis in history or reality? Probably not.

In India I can say it is definately not related with reality because I saw a 2 minutes disclaimer before and after movie that it is a fiction.

Ye the same happened in Moldova. But here, Popes and Christians protested in front of the cinemas before the first time showing it :D I was passing by, and they were like singing Ortodox songs ( everyone is Ortodox here).

I wish you all guys, to receive equal money in your adsense account with the number of davinci code book readers, or movie watchers.. that movie has a good conclusion.. reality is nothing for people, fiction is what they believe.. keep in mind, the majority of the news are fiction too.. should write a book about.. "how to spread a fiction and get real money from that" :D

Gotta love those protesters, they just help make the producers richer and the movie more famous. Guess they'll never learn.

but there are also chances that 'interested parties' start the protest to get publicity and that to at very low cost. There are many people in the world who don't know what exactly they are protesting against but they love to protest :D
