I'm thinking about buying the AzDGDatingPlatinum v 1.7.3 dating site script which cost $400 for a new totally free dating site. Since i will be starting from scratch(excluding the script) I want to know whether or not I missed the dating site band wagon. Am I too late to get in? I know advertising a free dating site can be costly.
Back in 2002 I set up a dating site with TangoWire. Then I decided I could make more going on my own. I spent about $4,000 on programming and advertising. It didn't go well at all... people weren't signing up at a quick enough rate to meet other people who were still visiting the site. I switched back to TangoWire and have been very happy with my earning these past few years. They have a shared database of members so it is easy to get started. Maybe you would do better starting your own site... but going with a shared database worked better for me.
it is quite hard to start from scratch... in a dating site... people wants to know more people. no one want to register and regularly visit a site with little actuve profile. tapping into a shared dating network will be a better choice. so you can just concentrate on hiring a web designer, and promoting the site.
Dating is a very competitive market....Some people have based their model on advertising..Free membership and earn through ads, but they are forgetting some people prefer clean and it takes a lot of advertising money to establish when there are 1 million websites around
